The oldest toy store in the United States, the flagship FAO Schwarz is most famous for its giant keyboard, on which Tom Hanks played "Chopsticks" with his feet in the film "Big." German immigrant Frederick Schwarz opened the first toy shop in 1870, where he sold quality toys that were crafted in Europe and brought to the states. While the BIG Piano Dancemat is this store's most iconic toy, you'll also find giant stuffed animals, high-end dolls, and games. This shop is a must-see destination for toy-loving tourists and a magical wonderland for kids. Although shops are not my favorite destination, this store is particularly entertaining. Wide, full of different things (toys and sweets). Ideal for children and one as an adult feels that he is one again. There are many demonstrations of original toys and a lot of things that surprise. You have to goView original -

One of my favorite place. It was beautiful when you 1st walk in. They had a lot of different array of stuff. The people were awesome especially the lady in the front. She was so kind and amazing. They had a lot of stuff that kids can do. Overall you will feel calm and stress free. Highly recommended

This was our first visit to New York, and friends told us that we had to stop at FAO Schwarz. As an adult and a teenager who entered the doors of this Charming store, we were not disappointed. The front door greeter was amazing, taking pictures with anyone who asked. Staff is informed and engaging. The demonstrators were such a treat to watch. The layout of the store makes you feel you are visiting another shop between departments. This shop was so much fun. It's hard to tell what the best part was...
