Ala Moana Center, Honolulu

4.2
Thought to be the largest outdoor shopping center in the world, Ala Moana Center offers more than 290 shops and 70 restaurants to explore. The center's design is based on modern Hawaiian architectural ideas, which you'll see as you spot the many natural symbols incorporated into the buildings and landscaping. The center's amphitheater regularly hosts hula dance performances and often features the Royal Hawaiian Band. • After a long time I went to Ala Moana Shopping Center. Arrived aboard the trolley bus from Waikiki, but became disoriented. At center stage is am asked about 30 bands from 11:00. Japan food shops number less than the food court before the audience and opened a new fault felt it go to a new section. (Location is free)

  • Super at Ala Moana Center also has stores in Hawaii and is writing to eat but I like best. Now the new supermarket vegetable aisle and fruit store has a nice feel. Best poke, spicy and soy sauce. Can I buy in small containers. You can also taste. You can buy as a bowl. Can I buy members great deals on things more and become a member of the Super. Was told the Clerk to forget if you forgot your card to the registered phone number. So my mother-in-law has made card membership card where can I make is not knowing, ask the clerk. I want to make at the service counter. This supermarket is some cheap souvenir and coffee too.

  • Nice mall - you can find almost everything there. But if you are a foreigner and planning to take a look at Ross there, you'd better find another place. I was there with my mom, who is also a foreigne...  more »

  • Things have changed since the 80s. But I grew up coming here for years. The look and feel is so very different, however everyone will find something here for them. That's how varied the stores are. Have tons of eating locations. They also have a game area for the younger customers and they have recently included a more older customer game center with bowling, games and food. Will continue to visit as it's been a part of the majority of my life. Lucky we live Hawaii.
  • Lots of parking and near Waikiki. Hawaii's largest shopping center, for now. More upscale stores then any other type. There is a large assortment of eating places so you won't starve here. Multi ethnic dining increases your choices if you can't decide on what to eat. Bring your walking shoes if you want to see the entire 4 levels of the mall. I wouldn't leave valuables in your car while it is parked there. They have good security but every once in a while they get car break-ins there. The food court is a must. Good luck.
  • I used to live here years ago and Ala Moana has always had awesome shopping. With the expansion, there's even more. Yet, is that a good thing? Your choice. I will say it's incredibly crowded and overwhelming, but there are amazing stores. The loss of Shirokiya (it's only food now), is too bad. It was a great, and different, department store. I probably won't go back, but that doesn't mean it's not amazing. It's just not for me, anymore.
  • This is one of the more impressive shopping malls that I have visited. Lots of high end luxury stores and impressive displays. When we visited, there were also performances by local groups on the stage. I also liked that there are 2 food courts here, a traditional mall food court with a lot of chain restaurants and a Japanese themed one. Since this mall is so popular, finding parking in their massive parking garage can still be a hassle.
  • I went to the shopping center to find the satellite city hall branch to register my bicycles. Overall I was impressed with the shopping center it was clean no overflowing trash cans anywhere. The stores looked nice with a large variety of shopping venues. The satellite city hall location is cash only but luckily there was an ATM located towards the muddle of the shopping center. Parking was easy to find as there is a large parking structure on the site. The satellite city hall location was pretty crowded wait time was about 30 minutes on Thursday at about 09:30 am.
