Although a similar structure probably stood here as long ago as 586 BCE, El Ghriba Synagogue was built during the 20th century. Decorated with shades of aqua blue, green, and white, the synagogue has a light and breezy look to it, complemented by the openness of the central courtyard. In what was once an all-Jewish town, the building stands as the island's best-preserved reminder of Jewish history in the country, attracting many pilgrims throughout the year.   Endroit qui vaut le détour. Les couleurs sont superbes. À voir Pas de tenue exigée juste se couvrir la tête avec un foulard u une kippa qu'ils nous prêtent.  more »

  Place worth a visit. The colors are superb. Seeing No outfit required just cover their head with a scarf u a kippah they lend us.

  C'est un très bel endroit à l'architecture et au décors superbes. Dommage qu'on nous ait réclamé une offrande sous prétexte qu'on était français, notre amie tunisienne n'a pas été sollicitée !! Un peu...  more »

  It is a beautiful place with superb architecture and décor. Too bad we were asked for an offering on the pretext that we were French, our Tunisian friend was not asked!! A little limits this practice!! That's the only downside.
