The southernmost city on the island, Galle combines colonial-era history with a tropical feel and climate.On the 11th (Sun), kick back and relax at Mirissa Beach, head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, and then make a trip to Parrot Rock Bridge. On the 12th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: look for gifts at Made In Ceylon, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Jungle Beach, and then steep yourself in history at Galle Fort.

The relaxing hilltop village of Ella benefits from a more temperate climate than much of the rest of country thanks to its high elevation.On the 13th (Tue), kick your exploration up a notch at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Little Adam's Peak, then snap pictures at Nine Arches Bridge, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Honey Bee Garden.

The historic rock of the same name dominates the landscape of World Heritage-listed Sigiriya, where the steep and striking lava plug contains the ruins of an ancient empire.Kick off your visit on the 14th (Wed): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Golden Temple of Dambulla and then explore the ancient world of Sigiriya Fortress. Keep things going the next day: explore the wealth of natural beauty at Minneriya National Park.
