The former capital of Guatemala and a World Heritage Site, Antigua retains its colonial charm and remains one of the most visited destinations in the country.
When in Antigua, make a side trip to see La Aurora Zoo in Guatemala City, approximately 56 minutes away. There's much more to do: explore the world behind art at Casa Santo Domingo Museums, stop by Ileana Sotela Accesorios, see the interesting displays at ChocoMuseo, and pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia de La Merced.
