Chioggia is a coastal town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Venice in the Veneto region of northern Italy.GeographyThe town is situated on a small island at the southern entrance to the Lagoon of Venice about 25km south of Venice (50km by road); causeways connect it to the mainland and to its frazione, nowadays a quarter, of Sottomarina. Visiting Bagno Bambu and Bagni Sirena will get you outdoors. Step off the beaten path and head to Diga Sottomarina and Bagno Florida Beach 43. Get out of town with these interesting Chioggia side-trips: Ferrara (Le Mura, Centro Storico Ferrara, & more), Parco Naturale Regionale del Delta del Po (in Rovigo) and Bagno Aloha (in Lido delle Nazioni). Spend the 21st (Sun) exploring nature at Pineta di Volano. There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Bagno Tamerici Dog, get outside with Bagno San Marco, look for all kinds of wild species at Oasi di Ca Mello, and explore the activities along Sacca degli Scardovari.
