San Simeon

When you arrive in tiny San Simeon, which lies halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, you can see why William Randolph Hearst chose this coastal locale for his famous hilltop castle.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Morro Rock and Piedras Blancas. Get outdoors at Moonstone Beach and Moonstone Beach Dr. Go for a jaunt from San Simeon to Templeton to see AronHill Vineyards about 42 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach, do a tasting at Moonstone Cellars, look for gifts at Sebastian General Store, and identify plant and animal life at Friends of the Elephant Seal Visitor Center and Gift Shop.
