One of the oldest settlements in the Yangtze basin, Suzhou remains a complex, labyrinthine set of old canal districts, World Heritage gardens, and sprawling modern developments.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Suzhou Garden Museum and Six Arts Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Xitang Ancient Town and The Lingering Garden. Go for a jaunt from Suzhou to Tongxiang to see Wuzhen Water Town about 1h 30 min away.
