The old city of Datong has an interesting and complicated history of development, sacking, and rebuilding.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Wed): explore the ancient world of Shanhua Monastery and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Hengshan Hanging Temple (Xuankong si). On your second day here, take in the spiritual surroundings of Huayan Temple of Datong and then stroll through Yungang Grottoes.

One of the oldest settlements in the Yangtze basin, Suzhou remains a complex, labyrinthine set of old canal districts, World Heritage gardens, and sprawling modern developments.
Appreciate the collections at Suzhou Garden Museum and Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute. Xitang Ancient Town and Tongli Town will appeal to history buffs. Step out of Suzhou to go to Tongxiang and see Wuzhen Water Town, which is approximately 1h 30 min away. There's lots more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Shantang Street, take in nature's colorful creations at Humble Administrator's Garden, stroll around Tiger Hill, and get a taste of the local shopping with Pingjiang Road.
