Kiruna

— 3 nights
Sweden's northernmost city, Kiruna remains best known for its proximity to the world's first hotel-museum built entirely of snow and ice.
Step out of the city life by going to Lights Over Lapland and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Get out of town with these interesting Kiruna side-trips: Abisko (Abisko National Park & Aurora Sky Station). There's still lots to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Kiruna Kyrka.

To find other places to visit, more things to do, reviews, and tourist information, read Kiruna trip planner.

Fly from Stockholm to Kiruna in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Traveling from Stockholm in February, expect Kiruna to be a bit cooler, temps between -6°C and -15°C.

Stockholm County travel guide

4.1
History Museums · Historic Walking Areas · Specialty Museums
Seaside Stockholm County is the country's capital and its most densely populated county. The harbor-front promenades lined with colorful historical buildings, cafes, and shops give way to cobblestone streets in the shadows of gothic churches and palaces. You'll be inspired by the simplicity of Swedish designs among the many boutiques. Tour one of the several museums at your leisure, and be sure to relax with a cup of locally acclaimed coffee in hand.
