Set in the heart of one of the United States' most esteemed wine-producing regions, just 45 minutes from San Francisco, Sonoma boasts colonial Mexican architecture, including a mission.
Sonoma is known for wineries, parks, and nature. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area, admire the architecture and history at Mission San Francisco Solano, admire the verdant scenery at Sonoma Valley, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Sonoma Plaza.

Kick off your visit on the 4th (Thu): look for all kinds of wild species at Armstrong Redwood State Reserve, do a tasting at Gary Farrell Winery, thendo a tasting at Gracianna Winery, thenlearn about winemaking at Alexander Valley Vineyards, and finally learn about winemaking at Stephen & Walker Winery.
