One of the 16 cities of the metropolitan area surrounding the capital, Makati stands as the financial hub of the country, possessing a large number of towering office buildings and the main trading floor of the stock exchange.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Fri): stroll around Rizal Park, take a stroll through Intramuros, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at San Agustin Church. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the long history of Fort Santiago, get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Manila Ocean Park, and then browse the exhibits of Ayala Museum.

Boracay to Makati is an approximately 3.5-hour combination of ferry and flight. You can also do a combination of ferry and bus; or do a combination of ferry, taxi, and bus. Expect somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Boracay in January: highs in Makati hover around 35°C, while lows dip to 27°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Sat) to allow time to travel to Beppu.

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
On the 28th (Mon), admire the landmark architecture of Hakata Station, take in panoramic vistas at Fukuoka Tower, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Dazaifu Tenman-gu, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kushida Shrine, and finally browse the different shops at Tenjin Underground Shopping Center. Getting from Beppu to Fukuoka by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. January in Fukuoka sees daily highs of 11°C and lows of 2°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.
