Imperial City

Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Sacsayhuaman and Plaza de Armas. Popular historic sites such as Salinas de Maras and Winay Wayna are in your itinerary. When in Cusco, make a side trip to see Perolniyoq Waterfall in Ollantaytambo, approximately Ollantaytambo away. There's much more to do: get engrossed in the history at Museo Inka, take a stroll through San Blas, explore the world behind art at Museo de Arte Precolombino, and examine the collection at Planetarium Cusco.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiport is Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport. In July in Cusco, expect temperatures between 24°C during the day and 1°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
