The commercial capital of the country, Colombo has added modern touches to its colonial-era core, creating an exciting and eclectic coastal city.

Step out of Ella to go to Nuwara Eliya and see Horton Plains National Park, which is approximately 1h 55 min away. Step out of Trincomalee to go to Nilaveli and see Pigeon Island National Park, which is approximately 56 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: stroll through Nilaveli Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Koneswaram Temple, appreciate the history behind Velgam Vehera, and take in the waterfront at Trincomalee Harbour.
