Get in touch with nature at Hraunfossar and Gunnuhver Hot Springs. Discover out-of-the-way places like Reykjadalur Hot Springs and Videy Island. Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Get outdoors at Speed Boats Tours and Horseback Riding Tours. Step off the beaten path and head to Arctic Botanical Gardens (Lystigardurinn) and Akureyrarkirkja. Step out of Akureyri to go to Varmahlid and see Glaumbaer Museum, which is approximately 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of The Old Farmhouse Laufas, see the interesting displays at The Industry Museum, steep yourself in history at Matthiasarhus, and see Off-Road Tours.

Traveling by flight from Reykjavik to Akureyri takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In June in Akureyri, expect temperatures between 56°F during the day and 44°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) so you can drive to Reykjahlid.

Höfn or Höfn í Hornafirði is an Icelandic fishing town in the southeastern part of the country. Get outdoors at Diamond Beach and Vatnajokull. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Boat Tours & Water Sports and Bakkabud. Go for a jaunt from Hofn to Hornafjorour to see Hvalnes Lighthouse about 58 minutes away. The adventure continues: laugh and play at Hofn Swimming Pool and explore the world behind art at The Thorbergur center.

Traveling by car from Reykjahlid to Hofn takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 53°F in June, and nighttime lows around 46°F. On the 22nd (Tue), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Vik.

Iceland's southernmost village, Vik, sports some of the country's wildest and most dramatic coastline.
Take a break from the city and head to Sólheimajökulll and Mýrdalsjökull. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Fjadrargljufur Canyon and Skogar Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Vik side-trips: Kirkjubaejarklaustur (Systrafoss & Scenic Green Lava Walk). There's still lots to do: explore the striking landscape at Reynisdrangar, appreciate the history behind Voyages Friendship Statue, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Reyniskyrka Church, and kick back and relax at Reynisfjara Beach.
