Start off your visit on the 8th (Tue): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Daishoin Temple, meet the residents at Miyajima Public Aquarium, and then head off the coast to Miyajima. Skiing enthusiasts traveling in Japan should consider a trip to Hakuba-mura: tucked away in the Northern Alps, this village hosted several competitions during the Nagano 1998 Winter Olympics.
Bring the kids along to Hakuba Snow Sports School and Hakuba Jump Arena. Get in touch with nature at Hakuba Happoone Ski Resort and Hakuba Goryu Ski Resort / Alpine Garden. When in Hakuba-mura, make a side trip to see Uedajo Castle in Ueda, approximately 1h 35 min away. There's still lots to do: fly down the slopes at Hakuba.
