A little town with a thriving tourism industry, Panajachel sits on the northern shore of scenic Atitlan Lake, one of Guatemala's major vacation destinations.
Get some historical perspective at Chichi Cemetery and Colonial Church. Visiting Cerro Tzankujil Nature Reserve and Tzantizotz Nature Reserve will get you outdoors. The former capital of Guatemala and a World Heritage Site, Antigua retains its colonial charm and remains one of the most visited destinations in the country.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Convento Santa Clara and Museo de los Ninos de Guatemala. Get some historical perspective at Catedral de San Jose and Arco de Santa Catalina. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Antigua: Guatemala City (Museo Popol Vuh, Museo Ixchel del Traje Indigena, & more).
