You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Budapest is known for historic sites, spas, and nightlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: get a sense of history and politics at Hungarian Parliament Building, contemplate the long history of Liberty Statue, take in the spiritual surroundings of Matthias Church, and take in the views from Szechenyi Lanchid.

The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Vienna is known for historic sites, museums, and nightlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: step into the grandiose world of Schonbrunn Palace, explore the world behind art at Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, make a trip to St. Stephen's Cathedral, and walk around Prater.

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Sun): don't miss a visit to Ljubljana Castle, explore the activities along Ljubljanica River, take a stroll through Ljubljana Old Town, then snap pictures at Triple Bridge, and finally take in the views from Dragon Bridge. On the 1st (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: trek along Vintgar Gorge, step into the grandiose world of Bled Castle, then glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour, and finally take some stellar pictures from Ojstrica.

You can drive from Vienna to Ljubljana in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and shuttle; or take a shuttle. In July, daily temperatures in Ljubljana can reach 32°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Tue) early enough to drive to Venice.
