You'll find plenty of places to visit near Quetzaltenango: Fuentes Georginas (in Zunil) and Xetulul Theme Park (in Retalhuleu). The adventure continues: get impressive views of Santa Maria Volcano, pause for some photo ops at Teatro Municipal de Quetzaltenango, don't miss a visit to Central Plaza, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at La Ermita de la Concepcion (La Conquistadora).

An island town, capital of the landlocked region of Peten, attractive Flores features pleasant architecture that complements the shimmering appearance of the surrounding lake.
Step out of Flores with an excursion to Tikal in Tikal National Park--about 1h 15 min away.
