Known for its historic medina quarter, a World Heritage Site, the city of Sousse boasts a rich history that dates back to the 11th century BCE.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Medina of Sousse and Sousse Archaeological Museum. Step off the beaten path and head to Archaeological Museum of El-Djem and Mosque Sidi Sahbi (Mosque of the Barber). Get out of town with these interesting Sousse side-trips: Hammamet (Hammamet Beach, Citrus Golf Course, &more), Amphitheatre of El Jem (in El-Jem) and Kairouan (The Great Mosque of Kairouan, Medina of Kairouan, &more). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 3rd (Sat) at AquaSplash Thalassa Sousse. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Museum Dar Essid, take in panoramic vistas at Sousse Ribat RIBAT, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Eglise Saint-Felix, and steep yourself in history at Kasbah of Sousse.

If you are flying in from Ireland, the closest major aiports are Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport, Enfidha - Hammamet International Airport and Tunis Carthage International Airport. In July, daytime highs in Sousse are °C, while nighttime lows are °C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) so you can travel back home.
