Surrounded by lakes and featuring impressive areas of geothermal landscape, the city of Rotorua offers an otherwordly landscape and a welcoming, peaceful environment, with the culture of the native Maori people very much in the foreground.
Get in touch with nature at Huka Falls Walkway and Te Puia. Do some cultural sightseeing at Tukairangi Gallery and L'Arte. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Rotorua: Taupo (Kinloch Beach, Great Lake Trail, & more). There's still lots to do: witness a stunning natural landmark at Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, stroll through Tikitapu Nature Walk, do a tasting at Volcanic Hills Winery, and browse the exhibits of 3D Trick Art Gallery.
