Hugging the western tip of Lake Titicaca, Puno serves as a melting pot of indigenous and imported cultures, and makes a great base for explorations around the region.
On the 25th (Mon), step off the mainland to explore Uros Floating Islands, get great views at Mirador Ing. Eduardo Sanchez, and then head off the coast to Taquile Island. On the 26th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: explore the activities along Lake Titicaca, walk around Parque Pino, and then delve into the distant past at Sillustani.

Traveling by combination of flight and bus from Maras to Puno takes 4 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or drive. Traveling from Maras in mai, plan for a bit cooler nights in Puno, with lows around -1°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Tue) early enough to drive to Arequipa.

Start off your visit on the 28th (Thu): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, then ponder the design of Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), then take an in-depth tour of Museo Larco, and finally walk around Circuito Magico Del Agua. Keep things going the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of San Pedro Church (Iglesia de San Pedro), steep yourself in history at Huaca Pucllana, take a stroll through Miraflores, then get a taste of the local shopping with Shopping Center Larcomar (Centro Comercial Larcomar), and finally walk around Parque Alfredo Salazar.
