Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira. Get some historical perspective at Iglesia Basilica del Senor de Monserrate and Museo Santa Clara. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Gold Museum (Museo del Oro) and La Catedral Primada. Change things up with a short trip to Laguna de Guatavita in Tierra Negra (about 1h 10 min away). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Casa de Moneda - Coleccion Numismatica del Banco de la Republica.

Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Spas and exploor. Your inner history buff will appreciate Sacsayhuaman and Piquillacta. There's still lots to do: delve into the distant past at Tambomachay and take in the dramatic natural features at Cerro Colorado Vinicunca.

Fly from Bogota to Cusco in 7 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In February, plan for daily highs up to °F, and evening lows to °F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) early enough to catch the shuttle to Ollantaytambo.

Start off your visit on the 23rd (Sun): explore the galleries of ALQA - Gallery of Andean Expressions, appreciate the extensive heritage of Qosqo Ayllu, thencontemplate in the serene atmosphere at Naupa Iglesia, thensample the tasty concoctions at Cerveceria Willkamayu, and finally delve into the distant past at Inca Quarries.
