Belize City

Belize's biggest urban center, Belize City is a culturally diverse seaside destination.
Take a break from Belize City with a short trip to The Belize Zoo in La Democracia, about 42 minutes away. There's much more to do: relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, look for all kinds of wild species at Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, look for gifts at Caribbean Spice Belize, and get a new perspective on nature at St John's Cathedral.

Once a humble fishing village, Placencia has been transformed into a leading tourist destination, with its focus primarily on outdoor activity and natural exploration.
Explore Placencia's surroundings by going to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Preserve (in Dangriga) and Glover's Reef Marine Reserve (in Hopkins). There's much more to do: head off the coast to Laughing Bird Caye National Park, take in the exciting artwork at Lola Art Studio, look for gifts at Treasure Box, and identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas.
