Rising above its surroundings with an unusual bell tower, St. George's Cathedral demonstrates 16th-century colonial architecture at its finest. A devastating hurricane in 1780 destroyed the church, which was finally rebuilt by 1820. Today, it serves as heritage site and a sanctuary. The church and its numerous stained glass windows have sadly fallen into disrepair in more recent years, so some areas may not be accessible at time of visit due to the restoration process.
