#Garden, #Castle, #Must See
World Heritage Site Quinta da Regaleira boasts romantic architecture and a lush park. Walk through the park and past lakes, wells, fountains, and statues. The palace, which was completed in 1910 and nicknamed the Palace of Monteiro the millionaire for its former owner, is the work of Italian architect Luigi Manini using Roman, Gothic, Renaissance, and Manueline influences. Notice the palace's gargoyles and octagonal tower, among other distinctive attributes, as well as its intricate, multi-level chapel. Take in views of the Castle of Moors and Pena Palace. • This place has a great garden with towers, tunnels, fountains and more, where you can get lost taking pictures and enjoying the place. The house was ok, but the upper level (which seemed the most inte...  more »
  • Simply unique! This is a special place with a lot of history, a dip in a magical world. Recommend a visit to the well and its underground routes Initiatory. Go in the cave of the labyrinth and finalize in the Palace, a work of art with its beautifully carved ceilings, doors, anyway ... Worth much the ride!

  • Quinta da Regaleira is a 19TH-century property with huge gardens with inspired structures in the middle ages (with towers, stone buildings, statues and the like), one of the most charming and intriguing places the garden is the Initiatic Pit, said it was used in rituals of Freemasonry. Is an inverted tower with stairs and exits at the top (garden) in the middle and at the end of the shaft. These last two connect with caves and caverns that go out to various parts of the garden. Lots of fun.

  • This is probably the most interesting palace I have ever been to! So many little places to see, so much beauty! Once inside, you feel like a child in a fantasy world. I can only imagine how great it must be for children to be there. Be ready for a lot of staircases and walking. For those who have knee or general leg problems, it may hard. I injured my ankle a couple of weeks ago and I could definitely feel it while walking there, but it was well worth it. Highly recommend a visit to Quinta da Regaleira to everyone!
  • Simply amazing. One of the most incredible park I've seen in my life. It is so special that it is impossible to properly describe the place, the atmosphere or the view. It should be highlighted as as a must see for everybody going to Portugal. The palace is nice as well but not even comparable to the magnificence of the park surrounding the building. Getting lost on the surface and below is a magical experience.
  • Amazing place to spend a couple of hours. The palace/house is nothing special inside but the outside and the extensive gardens and grounds are brilliant. Tunnels and caves and water features and monuments. Very cool.
  • An interesting park with statues, walkways, and beautiful, curated plants. Among the man made structures are two wells with spiral staircases that you can enter and a well preserved hunting lodge. There are even some caves to explore. This is well worth the few euros entrance fee. This whole park includes a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. And parking can be difficult to find. Get there early! There are taxis and tuck-tucks that will take you to the other Sintra attractions.
  • ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! "Quinta da Regaleira" is simply a MUST if you are nearby Sintra or in Lisbon, the entrance ticket is cheap (6€), and the place is just HUGE, the nature is breathtaking and buildings and statues are incredibly beautiful and detailed... There are also a lot of caves, underground tunnels and even a cafe, you can easily spend the whole afternoon here and get some incredible pictures! I couldn't recommend it more, is worth every cent!
