Now an elaborate and decorative waterfront square, Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco) was once home to the royal palace. Before the Great Earthquake of 1755, the royal family lived here. Today, the square acts as a port of entry to Lisbon. Meet with friends or begin your tour of the city at this central square, which houses the main tourism office on its west side. The square features a statue of King Jose I, a triumphal arch, and the Lisboa Story Center--an interactive museum. Explore the square and consider stopping in nearby restaurants and cafes, such as the famous 18th century Café Martinho da Arcada. • The large square right on the waterfront was a big disappointment. A beautiful statue, and the Portuuese "Arc de Triumph" were nice, and the wine tasting centre was good, but nothing has been done to ...  more »
  • if you are not a shopper, ignore all the temptations and spend some time on that small beach...you won't regret it. this is my second favourite place in Lisbon.  more »
  • I loved tumble this sublime with views of the Tagus River, beautiful, large terraces buildings on-site Museum, a kiosk at giginha, its trams and other tuc tuc... The atmosphere is conducive to relaxation and l wonder. Perfect for to stroll and continue along the Tagus River. The downside: little reprensatif of the authenticity of the Portugal, too touristy with prices accordingly. Instead of wine worth as well as the Museum of beer.

  • Great vibe and beautiful setting, but a lot of suspicious people in this square who would like to sell products you do not want. I hope police have a good eye on this. If these people who frequent the plaza remain, it will become a not so nice place to visit. Be wary of lone guys standing around and who approach tourists. Other than for these guys the place is uniquely located and worth a visit to experience the grandeur of the architecture.
  • A nice plaza to hangout in and see some views of the waterfront! There are a few cool spots here to checkout such as the beer museum or world's sexiest bathroom. The architecture and size of the gate and statue is really interesting to look at. There is also an area to walk up to the water and a little beach area.
  • We totally enjoyed sitting down with a bottle of wine and watching a live World Cup soccer match with thousands of fans of all ages. Large police presence which made it all the more comfortable to be part of. Great atmosphere, and what a special unique experience to be able to Witness. There's all kinds of stores and restaurants with a wide variety of options for you.
  • Very fantastic place. You feel you are in the Roman Empire. The place are very big and detailed. You need more than 3 or 4 hours to finish looking. There are just one bathroom if it was closed no other place to go. It is very pretty From inside.
  • Beautiful food and very reasonable prices. Staff were very attentive and courteous. Highly recommended, we would eat there again when back in Cascias...
