Parque Eduardo VII, Lisbon

4.3
Offering views of Lisbon and its river, Parque Eduardo VII occupies a sprawling area near the center of the city. Named in honor of the British sovereign who visited the city in the early years of the 20th century, the park spans more than 26 hectares (64 acres). A meticulously landscaped oasis of green lawns and box hedges, this park serves as both a recreational area and the site of regular art shows, concerts, and book fairs. The park's two greenhouses contain a vast collection of exotic plants, including several varieties of palms and cacti. Opposite the greenhouses you can visit a sports pavilion named in honor of athlete Carolos Lopes, the winner of the country's first Olympic gold medal. • This is a really nice place to go in order to enjoy a beautiful view of part of the city of Lisbon. This "Miradouro" is situated right in front of a big, long and well taken care park with huge walking and gardening areas and it is a good place to take some time, enjoy and get along with your friends and family. It has a beautiful water font and it allows to each tourist or visitor to take great pictures and, depending on the time of the day you go, it is possible to admire a wonderful sunset of sunrise.
  • Very pretty park. Ornamental Boxwood hedged down to the Marques De Pombal. Bird to River and castle. Even Serra da Arrabida on clear day. To get to the Miradouro with minimal uphill get off at Said Sebastian metro stop. Cut thru Amalia Rodrigues park which has a nice cafe overlooking a small lake.
  • Very nice place and a beautiful view of the center of Lisbon. Definitely worth it to come and watch with your family or alone. Very easy to acess as you just have to walk for a while after getting out of the metro. Before getting to the miradouro you still have another park where you can see not only the miradouro but all of the Lisbon as well and it is one of the best parks I have been too. There is a nice park going down with several benches to sit and enjoy your time. Sometimes there is some events here and it is very nice to see.
  • Really cool place to be in a nice sunny day. From the park you can see all the way to the river.
  • Great view over the Main Street of Lisbon (Avenue de Liberdade). You should go there in the morning when it's nice and quiet, and also cool. Perfect for watching the sunset. The garden below itself is not that spectacular, so you should go there mainly for the view.
