Parque Eduardo VII, Lisbon

4.2
Offering views of Lisbon and its river, Parque Eduardo VII occupies a sprawling area near the center of the city. Named in honor of the British sovereign who visited the city in the early years of the 20th century, the park spans more than 26 hectares (64 acres). A meticulously landscaped oasis of green lawns and box hedges, this park serves as both a recreational area and the site of regular art shows, concerts, and book fairs. The park's two greenhouses contain a vast collection of exotic plants, including several varieties of palms and cacti. Opposite the greenhouses you can visit a sports pavilion named in honor of athlete Carolos Lopes, the winner of the country's first Olympic gold medal. • Very nice view over Lisbon and the river. Overlooking the avenue of freedom (main artery of Lisbon). Is not the essential Lisbon but is still very nice

  • Worth the climb for the view that you get over the bay. Just watch your footing as the pavements can be quite slippery. If you keep walking further north passed the uni, there’s a track that will lead...  more »

  • If you are in Lisbon it is an ideal visit to walk around and enjoy the views of the city. There is a lot of green and being an open park the feeling of spaciousness is spectacular. There are areas with swings and beach bars to have a drink. Very nice and recommendable to go with kids.
  • A nice place to sit and enjoy nature. This is a public park so dogs are allowed. It is a good place to take your pet. If you do not have a pet it is a good place to go also. The park is large so if there are animals and owners then they should not trouble you.
