Take a tour or get caught up in the thrill of the crowds at Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, the home stadium of the professional soccer team S.L. Benfica. Nicknamed "the Cathedral" by local fans, the new stadium was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 65,647 fans. Check the schedule for the next home game and purchase tickets in advance if you would like to attend a match. Tours are offered where you will be able to see the field, the dressing room, and the tunnel that the players enter through. It will also take you through the museum of the club, where you can show off your penalty kick skills against a virtual goalkeeper. At the end, meet the famous, real-life eagles that fly around the stadium before each kickoff. • You can make the stadium alone or with a guide. That's great, because one can take its own pace. The Museum is indeed super made, but rather interested in Benfica fans. The stadium tour would have enough for me personally. Also a super activity in bad weather.

  • Modern chic Stadium, excellent review from any location-purchased tickets on the second floor, the place is really different. Very sick emotionally and given fully. The stadium was full. Worthwhile a spectacle.

  • Great stadium, on of the greatest I've visited. Do not miss the museum, it is very nicely organized and the lighting is perfect for some quality photography. The tour of the stadium takes you from the models of new and old stadium, to away team changing room (Benfica changing room is not available to see for security reasons), stands and finally the pitch where you will see two or three eagles, symbols of Benfica football club. One of these eagles is released before every game to circle the stadium and land in the center. Benfica was at one point the greatest club in the world and as such has a rich history that is beautifuly represented by the museum next to the stadium.
  • Great stadium and great atmosphere! Close to one of the biggest shopping centers in Europe. They also have an amazing museum where you can know more about the club history.
