    Peaceful stroll with large variety of birds along the roadside, mostly at quite a distance. In a few more open areas you could get in much closer.  more »

    When we were crossing the Brown River (during the Kokoda Track) we had one of the members of our group fall in! Thankfully they were ok (apart from being very wet!) and we carried on our way...  more »

    Brown River is about 45 minutes drive from Port Moresby. Another 20 minutes drive will take you upstream to the riverside village of Edevu. The stark change of the scenery in the vegetation will fool you into thinking you have flown out of Port Moresby. Surrounded by the Koiari mountains, the climate is cool and the dense rainforest gives you a breath of fresh air from the dust ridden city of Port Moresby. Worth a drive out there to enjoy the scenery but most of all the crystal clear river.
