  • So good!!! My partner and I came up from Christchurch for a few days. We went to Hells Gate and were not disappointed! We done the geothermal walk and had the absolute most best time. Such a fascinating place. Really interesting to just watch in awe. It is hot there obviously as you are surrounded by hot mud pools.
  • Somehow we missed this on previous trips so this time we went there and were not disappointed. Two main parts we liked are the geothermal walk and the mud pool. The walk is nice with features named by George Bernard Shaw. Among those there is a Mud Volcano. And there is a mud pool to relax in. There's 20 mins limit but I find it sufficient. Mud is very fine and silky and fun to play with. There is a souvenir shop and small cafeteria. I would like to see better/bigger food choices but staff was very accommodating to meet our request.
