Traverse lush rainforests and verdant wetlands of Milford Track, offering views of icy rivers, cascading waterfalls, and glacier-encrusted mountains. This rugged 54 km (33 mi) track passes through an area inhabited by the cheeky kea parrots and endangered whio ducks. Most hikers take approximately four days to complete this journey, resting and recuperating at huts along the way. Book well in advance and remember than only 90 hikers can trek across this trail at any given time. To avoid the risk of avalanches, time your trip for the period between October and April.
