Ile aux Canards island, Noumea

4.0
Famed for its coral reef, the tiny Ile aux Canards island remains a snorkeling paradise just a stone's throw from the mainland. See exotic marine life up close and personal, or just stay on the sand and relax. Rent a beach chair and umbrella, and pick up a few snacks at the cafe serving light meals and drinks. Remember to wear reef shoed to avoid cutting your feet on washed-up coral. If you can, avoid visiting when a cruise ship arrives to take adavantage of the best spots on the sand. • I got lucky enough to snorkel with Turtles. Good time you can spend there to chill out and relax.
  • Have to say the snorkeling was disappointing, most of the reef is dead but there are plenty of fish. My sister and I came here and brought our own drinks and food and they didn’t seem to mind as drinks and food are very expensive.
