Hike to the highest summit on the Isle of Pines, known to locals as Pic N'Ga. Lace up your hiking shoes, take plenty of water, and slather on sunscreen to protect yourself against the unobstructed sunshine as you ascend the 262 m (860 ft) summit. Once you reach the top, take a few moments to admire and photograph the panoramic views of the island and the ocean. • The effort will be rewarded with an incredible view of the island. On the other hand to do in the morning early, because little shade area and you catch a good sweat to get to the top. Thinking about putting a bottle of water in the bag.

  • N'Ga Peak is without reservation a hike to the island of Pines. The only way to see almost the entire island from above (apart from landing at the airfield). The view is not 360 degrees but almost... So to get that reward, you have to go upstairs. Good walkers (with good shoes, don't go in sandals!) will do it in 40 minutes, count an hour to get up at your pace (attention: little shade). Downhill in 30 minutes paying attention to the steep parts with pebbles because it slides easily. It seems that the sunsets and sunrises are beautiful; but the day when the sun is fully part of the game, the colors of the lagoon and around the islets are sublime too, mixed with the greens of the woodpecker and the ochre of the earth! If you are lucky enough to have this brightness, you will stay for a little while at the top (especially continue the path after the cross) to take your eyes full. Be careful, at the end of the wide and very steep part of pebbles, take a right to continue. You will find the start of the path 200-300 meters to the right after the Nataiwatch cottage when you come by the south road. Amazing views of all the island from this small summit. A must to do here (1hour to go up quietly). Don't forget good shoes and water, it's slippery with little rocks and hot with the sun. Enjoy at the top (continue the way after the cross).

  • Nice little 20min walk to reach the summit. Beautiful view of the island from above at 270°. You have a better view before the summit (too many trees)
  • Great hike, when you get to the top you dominate the island at 360 degrees. It takes 45 minutes to climb to a tranquillou rhythm.
