One of the largest complexes of its kind in the country, Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple represents one of the country's most important religious sites. The 10th-century Shingon Buddhist temple, just a short jaunt from the city's airport, sits within sprawling grounds dotted with many shrines, halls, and pagodas, each featuring classic swooping rooftops adorned with gold and red accents. Don't miss the complex's main pagoda, a 58 m (190 ft) tall structure erected in the 1980s. Amazing Japanese Buddhist Temple. One of my favourites in the country that I visited. Climbing the entry staircase takes you through the gate to another world. Not nearly as dense with tourists as other temples, and has such an amazing atmosphere. The walk down the streets of Chiba which are lined with market stalls to the temple was v charming.
It is a very famous temple that every Japanese knows. I have never been there in the past. I went here for the first time on the way back to Narita International Airport. There were so many tourists. The inside of the temple is very large. I thought I could enjoy the day when the weather was nice.
