Sunayama Beach, Miyakojima

#2 of 61 in Outdoors in Miyakojima
Must see · Beach · Nature / Park
At Sunayama Beach, observe the arch-shaped rock formed by centuries of crashing waves cutting a natural gate into the coral wall. The arch has become a symbol for this pristine beach, along with its white powdery sand and emerald green waters. Just 4 km (2.5 mi) away from the main city, the beach serves as a haven for water sport activities, as well as resting and soaking up the sun. Take advantage of some of the world's clearest waters--with 50-60 m (160-195 ft) visibility--by diving in and exploring the various coral species and marine life below the surface. • Very beautiful beach! A bit difficult to walk through the sand.
