Catch the train at Kanazawa Station, home to an impressive display of modern Japanese architecture. In front of the station's entrance stands the grand Tsuzumi-mon, a red gate in the form of a traditional Japanese hand drum. The main structure, the Motenashi (Welcome) Dome, consists of a high, swooping roof of steel frames and a spherical glass design. This area also has shopping stores and sometimes hosts small events.
