Kagoshima-Chūō Station (鹿児島中央駅, Kagoshima-Chūō-eki, lit: Kagoshima Central Station) is a major railway station in Kagoshima, Japan, operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu). It is the main railway terminal serving Kagoshima, the southern terminus of the Kyushu Shinkansen and is located on the Kagoshima Main Line and Ibusuki-Makurazaki Line. Before the Kyushu Shinkansen opened in 2004, the station was called Nishi-Kagoshima Station (lit: West Kagoshima Station). It is also the southernmost high-speed Shinkansen railway terminal in Japan.

  • The Kagoshima Chuo Station is a gigantic station. I did not transit through here, but I stayed in Kagoshima for several days and walked here to view the mall and restaurants. The mall area is easy to....  more »
  • They certainly knew how to dress up for the holidays. There was a small outdoor Christmas bizarre with local food and holiday treats. The tourist info people were somewhat helpful, take their advice.....  more »
