Considered the most important religious site in the area, Kushida Shrine dates back to 757 and features a thousand-year-old gingko tree as its shade. If you visit during mid-July, you'll have a chance to participate in the largest festival in Fukuoka, Yamakasa Gion Matsuri. During this fest, seven neighborhood teams race with giant kazariyama floats. Kushida Shrine Reviews
こじんまりしており、ロケーションも良い神社だと思います。博多の旅行中にちょっと立ち寄るには良い場所ではないでしょうか。 more »The location is very good. I think it's a good place to stop by while you're traveling in Hakata.
more »The Saimorisha Kushida Shrine in Hakata, which has a deep connection with Gionsha, is a shrine with a deep connection with Hakata Gion Yamakasa. The yamakasa event of the on-duty town starts, it starts at the Shioi taking event on the day, and all yamakasa events to the chase yamakasa in the early morning of the day are developed in relation to this shrine when entering the moon. I was also involved in Yamakasa until I was 30 years old as one of the children of Kushida Shrine, but now I only go to see it from time to time.
Very cool shrine in the middle of Canal City. Kind of a refreshing corner in what is otherwise a busy area with a lot of bars and shops. It’s a nice place to relax and slow down without needing to leave city center. In October they hold a big festival with the various floats and portable shrines.
Oh yeah! This place is a little jem tucked away in the middle of the city. I stumbled upon it when I was heading to the old market. The place is right beside the entrance. I was luck to enjoy the grounds on a beautiful day just as a few cherry blossoms were in bloom. A good place to get a few nice pictures.
