A complex of three temples dedicated the goddess of knowledge, Enoshima Shrine dates back to the 5th century and remains one of the area's major Shinto sites.   • A beautiful relatively quiet, beach-side town not too far from Tokyo. If you go around Christmas and New Year they've set up illuminations all over the flower beds and observation tower. On clearer days Mt. Fuji is easily visible.
