Dazaifu Temmangu, Dazaifu

Dedicated to the Shinto god of learning Tenjin, Dazaifu Temmangu traces its origins back to the year 905. Wander the complex and admire the ornate woodcarvings, red-gold accents, and classic swooping rooftops that adorn the buildings, particularly the lavishly decorated main shrine. Stroll through the shrine's surrounding gardens, featuring ponds, bridges, and other smaller structures surrounded by Asian plum trees. Don't miss a chance to try a local type of grilled bean cake, known as umegae mochi--you'll find it sold by many vendors along the main trail to the shrine. • I have come to pray for children to improve their academic performance. There were a lot of tourists from the school excursion and the foreign country from the Korea. Although the visit was also the purpose, Plum tree mochi was the best to enjoy the souvenir shop of the approach!

  • It was a very quiet hotel. The red Pot bridge between the main hall and the fountain of the pond is a nice place to feel. The light gradually lights up and there is a solemn air. I was able to visit a few people slowly.
