Dedicated solely to Egyptian art and culture, Museo Egizio houses the world's second-largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Founded in 1824 by King Carlo Felice, the museum now contains more than 30,000 exhibits, narrating the history of Egypt from the Paleolithic to the Coptic eras. Exhibits contain funeral furnishings and numerous objects of everyday use. Look for the altar of the goddess Isis and the intact tombs of the architect Kha, a builder of pharaohs' tombs, and his wife, Merit. The staff has painstakingly preserved these ancient objects, presenting them in a visitor-friendly layout that makes exploring ancient history fun and informative for of all ages. Guided tours are available with prior reservation. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Turin holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Museo Egizio and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Unfortunately, the organization is poorly cared for: the groups mingle in the confusion and lack precise indications on arrival. Otherwise the museum is fantastic, unmissable!
Bellissima ed interessante Un nuovo modo di vedere le mummie con i modelli tridimensionali, nuovi filmati per nuovi orizzonti culturali Consigliato!!!! more »Beautiful and interesting A new way to see mummies with three-dimensional models, new films for new cultural horizons Recommended!!!!
An impressive museum where we keep very good memories. I strongly recommend to visit it for adults and children at very interesting prices. If you go there on your birthday, admission is free. The visit takes 3 hours to see everything in detail. The museum is well arranged not very hot. Cool places. Seats on each floor for a short break. Nothing to say but to do.
I went back to the museum after its renovations, and I loved it. Some of the relics are absolutely stunning, and the curators focused on representing the Egyptian culture in both broad strokes and everyday-life details. You even find a couple of examples of "free" artistic expression, more independent from the fixed canon of the time, which I found was a lovely surprise. I am monitoring the temporary exhibitions' calendar looking for some excuse to go back
