Castello Scaligero, Sirmione

Bordered on three sides by Lake Garda, Castello Scaligero originally served as a port defense for Verona's medieval lords. Visit the 13th-century castle that stands guard over the town of Sirmione and its peninsula to see rooms filled with artifacts. Admire the crenellated walls and impressive stone towers, as well as the moat and a drawbridge. You can climb to the top for views of the town, lake, and countryside. For a different perspective, take a boat tour on the lake; many include the castle on their itineraries. • That is an amazing magic castle. There is lot of flowers everywhere and an ideal place for a wedding. Actually I have seen a preparation for wedding there. Highly recommend to visit and take a look from the tower - charming views. Other great idea is to take a boat and go around. You will not disappoint - there are calm and relaxed atmosphere, fresh breeze, views and amazing color of water.
  • Great place to visit. The entrance to the old city is impressive. Walking around the city has a romantic feeling and the nice beaches are full of tourists enjoying the clear blue water. During hot summer days it’s difficult to walk along the beaches and open areas due to the extreme heat and lack of shade. The enormous ice creams can partally compensate with that. And if arriving by car during the top season, get ready to spend at least an hour to find some parking...
