Now a huge shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II was designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni and built between 1865 and 1877. Often called "the living room of Milan" because of its importance as a popular meeting and dining place, this building is topped by a glass dome and features an exquisite mosaic floor. Considered one of the city's main landmarks, the mall is home to some of the region's oldest shops, as well as a number of modern, upscale boutiques, including Louis Vuitton and Prada. Choose from numerous cafes and restaurants that serve a wide range of foods for all budgets. This busy commercial building is also a good place to learn about the city's art and architecture, with several notable galleries spread across the mall's extensive grounds. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Reviews
Very crowded but fun vibe. The place is clean and good for people watch. The food and drinks are expensive in that area. more »
Foi uma tarde agradável, ver as luxuosas vitrines das grandes marcas de moda é indescritível. Muito lindo. more »It was a pleasant afternoon, seeing the luxurious showcases of the big fashion brands is elusive. Very beautiful.
Very nice food and good service. They have their own on site pastry chef so be sure to sample some pastry. The location is fantastic. Beware of thieves tho if eating outside by the edge. I think it's quite over priced overall fire what it is. Whilst the food is good it's not amazing so if you're ok paying premium for location then go for it.
Unbelievable cathedral in the heart of Milan. Architecture is stunning and the history of the building is just as interesting. I suggest taking a guided tour to understand up to the rooftop to get the best views of the plaza and the cathedral. We attended sunday mass here which was beautiful, and surprisingly not that crowded. Very beautiful since everything is in Italian and traditional.
