  • On 11/03/2020 more than 1.730 views. One is finally spending more time queuing up than visiting. Queues for: buying a ticket or exchanging a reservation for a ticket or getting a ticket with a Firenze Card. Followed by another queue to visit, sometimes queuing during the visit! You beter not miss the right queue, otherwise falling back to "prison" and start all over their stupid 'game'? Not only worse than in Pisa and Siena, but even more than in Rome, Paris or London! Understand who can. Bad organisation! No information! Take the Domo piazza (very long) queues: one to get your combi-ticket at an almost unnoticeable store, one for the Duomo climb (also need to reserve a time!), one for the cathedral interior (almost the same queue as for the Duomo!), one for the campanille climb, one for the battistero and one for the museum. Combined with daily varying opening times of the cathedral. Good luck!! Why not using Nadar crush barriers or queue ribbons to clearly delimit very long queues, with big info panels at the start. Avoiding people to go on front to ask, every time again; also with those loud & rather agressive shouting at the entry to everybody/finally nobody (those 'stupid visitors'!) ?? High time that those responsives tests for themselves this chaos and learn from it... Frankly and sorry: assh*les, Firenze deserves better than your mess! ------------- In response to the reaction of this Florentine tourism desk to my review and in general to all EU tourism hotspots: people visiting (on their own) the EU - thus visiting consecutive more of less 'important' cities - don't necessarily have the time to prepare it all in advance & in detail. Those visitors arrive and somewhere hope for the (local) best? Each city has its own webpage(s) or even (global or musea-specific) apps, but those are rather useless for a modal transvisitor. Nobody has a 'nuclear powered' smartphone, nor the time to master those apps (in EN?). Visitors use (the most recent) guides and need a local system that predigest it all for them. Better off with (mobile 4G & wifi pre-loaded city maps) GoogleMaps. Citing Frank Lloyd Wright's Florence "romantic city of cities" (?), is not much of a help. ----- After my return to home: I have now my idea why those Etruscans disappeared...
  • Website said they were open till 1900, got there around 1800, and while they were still letting people in and providing information, would not sell us the Firenze ticket and told us rudely to come back at 9 tomorrow. Which is incredibly inconvenient for us. Can’t sell the one thing they are supposed to provide.
