Constituted by granite of the island of Elba, the column at the cross at Trebbio was erected in 1338 on an ancient well to commemorate the victory of the Dominican inquisitor Pietro da Verona (later St. Peter Martyr), against the heretics Cathars in 1244. It is paired with the column of Santa Felicita, also dedicated to the victory of the Saint against the heretics Cathars.
