Must see · Bridge · Tourist Spot
Take in the atmosphere of Bessano de Grappa with views from Ponte degli Alpini. Originally built in 1569 but destroyed many times since, most recently during World War II, the wooden bridge affords views of the river Brenta and the nearby Alps on one side, and charming riverside houses on the other. As a gateway to the old part of town, the covered pedestrian bridge flanked by grappa bars harbors a social atmosphere. • lovely views, pay respect to the defenders of the city (marked by a memorial plaque monument and fresh red flowers fixed next to the plaque), if lucky (as we were) you can enjoy the "Alpini" singing.....  more »
  • Covered in scaffolding and wood until at least spring 2021. Can’t see much of the bridge. Wish I had checked TripAdvisor before coming.  more »
  • It's one of the marvels of renaissance infrastructure. It was designed by Andrea Palladio. A very beautiful bridge, even though I was unlucky enough to find it under construction. Nevertheless, it is a nice and very peculiar landmark, considering the fact that Palladio is mostly known for his villas and palazzos.
  • Very romantic, but it's still being restored. It will surely regain it's beauty after the works will be finished
