Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Ubud

4.2
Both a protected reserve and a temple complex, Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary shelters several hundred long-tailed Balinese macaques. The monkeys get their nourishment from the forest staff, which feeds them sweet potatoes several times a day. Though you can't give the monkeys peanuts, cookies, or other snacks, you can purchase bananas if you want to feed the little ones yourself--just be prepared for a lot of attention from these cheeky creatures, and stow away valuables and shiny objects. This jungle sanctuary contains three temples, allegedly constructed in the 14th century. Keep in mind you can enter sacred sections of the temples only if you wear traditional praying clothes. Stop by the forest office near the main entrance, which accepts donations and provides detailed information about the sanctuary's history and significance. • Cute park, there you can hide from the sultry heat! There are many monkeys, it is strictly forbidden to feed them!!!! Aggressive were only in relation to each other, did not share the territory))) "watchers" well done, make funny photos for visitors

  • The park is beautiful but if you are afraid of monkey, reconsider your visit. They are many, come very close and take any item you are carrying in your hands, like bottle of water, and sometimes even dark hides and other minor belongings. Store your things in the backpack and take care of your belongings to enjoy the ride. The photos are great and engreted. It has park staff guiding visitors everywhere.

  • I absolutely loved the money forest. Its an animal attraction where the animals are the ones that run the show not people. It's clearly their home and we have to be the respectful visitors. The guides are amazing and do a great job protecting the monkeys and the people. It's a well kept park and an unforgettable experience. Please respect the rules and the monkeys and enjoy yourselves!!!
  • This is absolutely worth it!! You will get amazing photos of monkeys and get to see them monkeying around, eating, and grooming. Great excursion for the whole family or solo travelers. The sanctuary is almost completely shaded from large trees so you won't be hot walking around. Don't bring food in your bag or loose items!! The monkeys will jump on you
