Cerro de la Cruz, Antigua

#6 of 141 in Things to do in Antigua
Landmark · Tourist Spot
Embark on a short but steep walk to Cerro de la Cruz, a landmark of Antigua. The ascent takes you to a scenic lookout point, complete with a large cross statue made of stone, dedicated to the city’s patron saint. From the viewpoint perched on the hilltop, you can enjoy the postcard-like vista of the city, with the imposing Volcan Agua in the background. Robberies in the once notorious area have declined thanks to improved security, but it's best not to attempt the ascent alone or at night. • Awesome view of the city, a must go to place on your travel checklist. Highly recommend the short hike up, gives a better experience. Just about 20min hike up.
  • Definitely a must do well in Antigua. Beautiful view, try to go early when the crowd is low. Amazing view of the volcano.
