Parc du Cinquantenaire, Brussels

Stroll the promenades of a grand urban park at Parc du Cinquantenaire, home of the Arc du Cinquantenaire. The 19th century saw the addition of the triumphal arch for Belgium's 50th anniversary as an independent nation. Three museums occupy the northern part of the park: the Royal Military Museum, Autoworld, and the Cinquantenaire Museum. A 19th-century monument called the Temple of Human Passions and a Great Mosque take up the northwest corner of the park. The buildings at the corners of the park complement the arch's neoclassical grandeur with their domes and rotundas, and the center is dominated by an esplanade where you can walk through the landscaped greenery. • Park in the middle of the city. A good place is around a bit in the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy the peace and quiet

  • This park is one of the biggest parks in Brussels. If you want to relax you should pay it a visit and with the old monuments you will be excited.  more »
  • The Park is very nice, but most notable is the architectural complex. The arch is impressive and the surrounding buildings very beautiful and big, hosting museums, such as the automotive and the army
