At Sigmund Freud Museum, get a glimpse into Freud's life and the development of psychoanalysis. Visit the rooms in which the father of psychoanalysis produced the majority of his writings. Freud lived and worked here for 47 years until June 4, 1938, when he went to England. See original furnishings, his personal items, the waiting room, and parts of his extensive antique collection. Founded in 1971, the museum features about 2,000 documents. The archive of images includes photographs, paintings, drawings, and sculptures, plus signed copies and first editions of his works. Watch the film material on the Freud family in the 1930s, which features a commentary by Anna Freud. Attached to the museum, you'll find Europe's largest psychoanalytic research library.   • The newly renovated Siegmund Freud Museum is definitely worth a visit. Close details of the interior house where he lived for more than 30 years as well as of his own life, family and achievements. I....  more »
  • This museum has recently re-opened and, as I am very interested in the work of Sigmund Freud, I benefited from the opportunity of visiting it. I do not know what the museum was like, previously, but.....  more »
  • Although the real facility is under restoration until 2020, I can totally state that it was inspiring to see Dr Freud’s hand letter, collection of stuff and Anna Freud’s testimony about her fathers life. When I got out I could not belive I was walking the same streets Dr Freud used to walk to go back home. Cannot wait to go back to his home at Berggasse 19 on May 2020!
  • This place will be comprehensible only when you unlock the power of psychoanalysis, in other cases it seems like a random combination of portraits, furniture and antiques. But when you do have a stuffing in this science, wall texts make a good addition to the books read.
